Love Quilt Project
We have volunteered for several years with a non-profit organization headquartered in Arlington, Va called The Love Quilt Project (http://www.lovequiltproject.org/). This project coordinates school children here in the US, quilters such as us, and other partners to provide Love Quilts to orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa. These quilts are often the only thing these children can call their own and the gifts show them they are loved and can truly change their lives. The Love Quilt Project supplies all the completed art squares (from children here in the US), one logo square, and the log cabin pattern. We select our own fabric to best carry these messages to the children. The quilts will be presented to boys and girls of all ages – infants to teens.
The pattern is here: http://www.lovequiltproject.org/s/2022-Twin-Quilt-top-pattern-revised-825.pdf. It is essentially log cabin blocks, with the children's art in the center; the blocks are laid out 3 across and 4 blocks down. The bottom right corner block has the Love Quilt Project logo. Once sewn together, the final quilt will be professionally finished by a partner - Springs Creative who will be using specially chosen Love Quilt fabrics to complete the back of the quilt, the fire-retardant batting is supplied by a partner from the Milliken Group. Springs Creative will top stitch the completed Love Quilt top.

Reach out to Elaine O'Connell if you would like to work on sewing the blocks.
